Stakeholder Relations in the Mining Sector in Zambia

The meeting concerned the mining sector and discussed the relations among the key stakeholders in the Zambian mining sector. Issues discussed included stakeholders’ views on: 

• the state of any partnering in the industry,
• the level of consultation among stakeholders in the industry,
• what agitates local communities around the mines and what should be done,
• the relations between mining employees and their employers,
• relations between local suppliers and mining companies,
• relations between government (local and central) and mining companies and,
• relations between small scale miners and mining majors (companies)
